First Baptist Church lists events
The deadline to bring shoeboxes to church for Operation Christmas Child is Nov. 19th for delivery to children who otherwise may get no other gift this Christmas.
The 32nd Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Nov. 23rd. A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in the education wing for cooking turkeys, donating other food items, and all the jobs that need to be done (setting up, cooking, delivering, serving, and cleanup). Check it out and see how you can contribute. You may also sign up on the bulletin board for reservations for the noon sit-down meal or call the church for reservations at (812) 448-8112. Reservations for carry-outs (to be picked up at 11 a.m. on Nov. 23rd) and deliveries (to Cooper Towers, Jackson Gardens, and Meridian Towers only) can also be made by calling the church. All reservations need to be made by Nov. 20th.
You are invited to join us at the following weekly services. Sunday school classes at the First Baptist Church begin at 9:30 a.m. Worship service follows at 10:30 a.m. Sunday evening service, Childrenís Programming for elementary students, and Youth Group for middle and high school students start at 5 p.m. Narcotics Anonymous meets on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Also, every Tuesday, a bible study for middle and high school girls meets at 7 p.m. at the home of Stacey Thompson (firstname.lastname@example.org). On Wednesday, an adult bible study is held at 12 noon at the YMCA and choir practice takes place at 6 p.m. at the church. On Thursday, the Kidís Klothes Kloset is open from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and The Rock contemporary worship service begins at 7 p.m.
