Hundreds participate in YMCA Turkey Trot 5K

Thursday, November 23, 2017

About 200 people of all ages ran in the annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K at the YMCA. Although the temperature was below freezing when Nicole Fry blew the whistle to begin the event, the only people complaining about the cold were those who were not running, who were gathered to cheer on the participants. One runner said moving would keep them warm while one of those who planned to walk debated wearing a coat. The first male and female across the finish line received a turkey while runners age 12 and under received medals. See more photos inside.
