Knights power past Vikings in road volleyball tilt

TERRE HAUTE — The Northview volleyball team picked up a Western Indiana Conference win on Monday evening over West Vigo, 25-18, 25-10, 25-7.
The Knights got off to a bit of a slow start in set one before ramping up their focus. The Vikings had a 15-14 advantage deep in the opening set before Northview got rolling to score 11 of the final 14 points to snag a 25-18 victory and a one-set advantage.
Northview carried that momentum the rest of the way in closing out the Vikings behind a balanced effort across the board from its players.
Alli Cook had a team-high seven digs with Megan Heck adding three service aces and six digs along with an assist in the match. Madeline Sinders produced six kills while Kassidy Glassburn added four kills along with a block. Jenny Lundy tallied 11 assists, seven kills, three digs and five aces. Kambree Lucas passed out a team-high 12 assists to go with eight kills, five digs and two aces. Izzy Horrall had two blocks and two kills for the Knights with Maddie Kooistra adding a kill.
The junior varsity Knights improved to 9-3 this season with a 2-0 sweep of the Vikings.
Natalie Bell served up six aces to go with two digs and one kill. Sidda Clark had three kills and both Maizie Pell and Destiny Burns had a kill. Kiely McKillop had an ace and a dig. Rylee Richey tallied two aces, two digs and two kills. Rylee Rogers distributed four assists and had an ace.
The varsity Knights are now 18-2 overall and host Greencastle in another conference match-up on Wednesday.
