Pell honored by American Legion for service in World War II

On Saturday morning, John R. Pell was presented with a plaque honoring his service in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. American Legion Post 2 Commander Randy Kaelber made the presentation following prayer by Chaplain Walt Termeer (center) and “The National Anthem” led by Cindy Gibbens. “This is quite an honor and a lot of my family is here,” Pell said, mentioning his great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. “I’m proud of every one of them.” Concluding the ceremony, Gibbens sang, “A Rendezvous with Destiny.”
