Mark your calendar as Cory celebrates its 50th Apple Festival, September 27, 28 & 29!

Cory celebrates its 50th Apple Festival, September 27, 28 & 29!

The highlight of this yearís festival brought to you by the Fire Department, Festival Board and The Bad Apple Saloon is the Paul Bunyon Lumberjack Show. There will be 7 shows throughout the weekend, each one a little different, each one a challenge between some of the best competitive lumberjacks in the nation. Watch and awe over the ax throwing, chainsaw carving, cross-cut sawing, log-rolling and more. Thanks to our many sponsors, the shows will be free to the public. Catch the action Friday at 7 and 8:30, Saturday at 11 am, 3 pm and 7 pm and final shows on Sunday at 12:30 and 2:30.

In between shows, take the kids over to the Big Bounce Fun House Inflatables. Each day features a $10 bracelet with other special attractions priced separately.

Entertainment for the 50th celebration includes special performances on The Bad Apple Saloon stage. Pfreak Show will perform Friday at 9 pm. There will be music throughout the day Saturday, ending with The Eskimo Brothers at 7 pm followed at 9 by Hairbangerís Ball.

A new event, organized by the local firemen, is the Firemanís Waterball Tournament. Local firefighter teams will faceoff to see who has the best water-fighting proficiency with the hoses and nozzles.

Other events to attend during this special weekend include Karaoke on Friday from 6:30-9 pm. Saturday, Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull at 11 am with registration 15 minutes prior. The popular Corn Hole Tournament will begin at 1 with registration at noon. Back again this year is the Silly Safariís Interactive Animal Show with performances at noon and 2. Music by John Hennessy at 4:30 pm. The final event of the weekend, as always, is the parade on Sunday at 3:30.

Of course, itís not a festival without all of our favorite festival foods! All of the best home-cooked meals at the firehouse will be available- Firemanís Breakfast from 6-10 am on Friday and Saturday. The Ribeye Dinner is Friday evening from 4-8 pm. The Jonah Fish Fry runs Saturday from noon to 8 pm with carry-outs and sandwiches available. Definitely donít miss the Chicken Noodle Dinner, Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm.
