The Calico Quilters met November 19 at the REIN Center Library

The meeting was called to order by President Pat Wilkinson.

Mary Jo Steiner gave the lesson on Prairie Points. Prairie Points may be made with either 5-inch squares or 3-inch squares. She showed the group how to fold them and how to place them around the quilt. You can place the Prairie Points side by side or overlap them. She suggested to pin them on the quilt first to make sure the spacing between the Prairie Points is correct.

For show and tell Mary Jo Steiner showed a Scrappy quilt in which each row across the quilt was quilted with a different quilting design. Carolyn Keiser showed a Scrappy Heart quilt which the hearts were set on point. Wanda Canton showed a hot pad and Marilyn Funk showed a bag made from a T-shirt and explained how it was made.

Our next meeting will be held at the Faith Southern Baptist Church located at 875 W. State Road 246, Clay City, on December 10 at 11:30 a.m.

Please bring a covered dish and your own drink.

Show and tell will consist of Christmas items. Food will be collected for the Food Pantry.
