The 5th annual Breakfast with Santa sponsored by the Poland Community Lions Club will be 9 a.m. to noon, December 14, in the Cooks Corner Cafe, Southeast corner of S.R. 42 and Bowling Green Road. There will be live music.

The Church of Our Lord Jesus, 708 E. Hendrix, will have a food give away from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, December 14th.

The Clay County Jr. Leaders invite all area youth to attend a free pancake breakfast with Santa on December 14, 9 to 11:30 a.m., in the Clay County 4-H Exhibit Hall at the fairgrounds on State Road 59 south of Brazil. The event is free but donations will be accepted.

Main Street by Moonlight will start at 6 p.m., December 7th. If your business is participating, call Lindsey Mershon, 812-236-6317 and she will help you promote the event.

Knightsville Chapter 238, Order of Eastern Star is presenting “The Grinch,” “The Christmas Tree Ship” dinner and “Polar Express” at Centennial Lodge, 5845 N. S.R. 59, Brazil, on December 7, starting at 2 p.m. .

The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter hosts support groups across the state for unpaid care partners, family members and friends of individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia. The groups meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Vigo County Public Library, Terre Haute.

The Brazil Board of Public Works and Safety and City Council will meet on the second Wednesday of each month and on the fourth Wednesday when warranted. The Board of Works meets at 10 a.m., and the City Council meets at 5 p.m. Both meetings are in the council chambers in City Hall on National Avenue.

Senior Education Ministries, Inc. has scheduled Dine with a Doc®- Clay County: the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon to take place at the Staunton Community Center 101 N Monroe St; Staunton, Indiana 47881--(812) 448-1487.

The Clay County Genealogy Library in Center Point is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Society meets every third Tuesday at 1 p.m.; the public is welcome to attend. For additional information, contact volunteers at 812-835-5005 when the library is open.

The third annual Chocolate Walk is set for December 7th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Clay City. Clay City USA is sponsoring the event. There will only be 250 tickets available.

4-H enrollment is open for everyone through January 15th to join (grades K-12). They can visit in.4honline.com to join, or come into the Extension Office. Mini 4-H (grades K-2) is FREE and regular 4-H (grades 3-12) is $15.

The Clay Community School Board of Trustees meets in regular session the second Thursday of each month in the Board Room of the Central Administrative Office, 1013 South Forest Avenue, Brazil. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. unless otherwise notified.

Celebrate Recovery Meetings are held at Staunton First Christian Church from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursdays. For more information, call (812) 870-5719.

The First Presbyterian Church in Brazil will serve dinner from 5-5:30 p.m. every Sunday. The free dinners are available to anyone in the community, and to-go boxes are available. The church is located at 210 N. Walnut St., Brazil.

First Baptist Church Kid’s Kloset, 413 S. Walnut St., Brazil, is open most Thursdays from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Call the church office, 812-448-8112, to make an appointment. If no answer, leave a message with a name and number, sizes and gender of each child and the type of clothing they need.

The Brazil Times is a drop-off location for used glasses and hearing aids for the Lions Club Recycle for Sight program. A drop box is located inside the Times, 531 E. National Ave., Brazil.

The Clay County Health Department offers assistance with tobacco cessation. The department provides an 8-10 week program that features education and support as well as free nicotine patches (prescription required). For more information, call 812-448-9019.
