Women on the hunt in Clay County

Tuesday, February 25, 2020

Although the Indianapolis Boat, Sport, & Travel Show was a big event for outdoor lovers Saturday, a few women decided to travel more than two hours for a free quail, pheasant and chukars hunt in Clay County. The Wabash Valley Quail Forever club hosted the event at the 160-acre Prairie Grove Hunting Preserve in the southern part of the county (just south of I-70, at the intersection of County Roads 425 West and 43 South). Owner Jim Jacob farms a portion of the land and practices conservation while creating stronger wildlife habitats through a club program. Jacob confirmed hosting hunters from as far away as Hawaii and Africa since 2009 during the hunting season of September 15-April 1. Learn more about Prairie Grove Hunting on its Facebook page.
