A Timely Blessing

Nearly two months have passed since God first laid this thought on my heart in a Wednesday night Bible Study at Trinity Baptist Church: “How can we turn the love that Jesus has put in our hearts for the town of Brazil into action in a way that can make a real difference.”

Immediately, our people poured their hearts out with a number of great ideas that we will look to implement in God’s time.

Later that same night, my phone began blowing up with messages from Steve and Penny Keller and Rusty and Kameko Bennet. It was in this conversation that the idea of adding a Blessings Box to our area of town found it’s beginning.

Over the next couple weeks, Rusty and his family built a fully functional Blessings Box, which the church voted unanimously to add as a ministry of our church.

This is where the story gets interesting. Two weeks ago, we made plans to install the Blessings Box at the corner of Halbert and Washington, but my schedule was such that it didn’t work out.

Another week passed, and the weather kept us from completing the installation.

Then…CoVid-19!

It is astonishing how much has changed in a matter of a few days.

Everything we thought we knew has been flipped upside down. The Stock Market has crashed, a pandemic has swept the nation, and the grocery store has become a barren wasteland.

While two weeks ago, it would have been much easier and much more convenient to stock up an unmanned food pantry, today, the need is very real and very great.

There is a lesson to be learned from this...

God knows what we need and when we need it. You see, while everything else has changed, we serve a God Who is always the same!

As turmoil, unrest, and anxiety grips the hearts of millions of Americans, it brings lasting peace to know that there is a God Who loves us, Who will carry us through this hard time, and Who is infinitely greater than CoVid-19.

If you are struggling in your heart, and need God’s truth to help guide you through this crisis, we invite you to visit us as soon as this quarantine concludes and we get back to services as normal.

You can also go to www.trinitybaptistfamily.wordpress.com or visit our Facebook page to experience the Word of God we preach and to get updates on our service times going forward. I would like to thank all the families and friends that have made this new outreach possible and for all those who will be donating for years to come.

We love you, Brazil; and we want you to know that Jesus loves you even more. If you and your family are needing a blessing, please stop by our Blessings Box at Trinity Baptist Church - God put it there just for you!
