BRAZIL BUZZ: How do you like the weather?

Brazil Buzz

How do you like this cool weather? During early days of Spring Mother Nature is rather fickle.

This morning I donned my hooded jacket as soon I heard our empty trash tote hit the pavement and the trash truck move on down Grant Street. The workers usually leave it in harms way and lose pieces of their load behind when the pick-up is complete.

Wind and carelessness send it to my front yard.

Today a large plastic soft drink bottle and someone’s blue rubber gloves landed in my yard. I searched-out my shovel and with gloved hands planted on the long handle, disposed of the litter and sealed the bag.

One never knows where the virus lurks these days. During a day’s work the trash handlers move about hundreds of bags and other containers. It is a good rule to wear disposable gloves and a good soapy hand wash helps when they are removed.

I felt a chill in these old my bones and decided the grass could wait until tomorrow. Now I hear it might be spitting snow. I hope the neighbors will forgive me for allowing the dandelions to bloom. There is more than a bouquet and I pass on the spring greens, a favorite of my elders.

We are still quarantined here. It may be a while until Paul and I can go anywhere. Appointments have not been rescheduled.

Paul needs his shots for pain. The nurse at VA called today. She said his doctor has been reassigned to another hospital. He should call for an appointment in late June or July.

The grandkids help us with the grocery shopping and pick-up my prescriptions.

Stores here are experiencing a lack of products, and especially grocery items. Eggs are in short supply and people are still hoarding toilet paper.

We sure can’t cancel toilet visits for an indefinite period. I’ve never been asked to share toilet paper although I would be glad to solve the problem for others if we had enough for ourselves. That’s just the way I roll! Share and it will come back to you two-fold! That would put a smile on my face and a spring in their step. Just saying…

It appears we will have a pair of stimulus checks deposited in our checking account sooner or later. If I were asked what this old senior would rather have it would be safe to say an end to the

sickness, death and unrest Coronavirus Covid-19 has and is causing at home and the rest of the world.

Hopefully, science will prevail and a vaccine is found, tested and proven to protect us from the deadly virus in the near future. There is much to think about and work to do.

If we follow the safety rules and do not let our guard down we get through this pandemic sooner.

I heard optimists live longer than pessimists, at an early age. That is why I am an optimist.
