Commissioners extend order to wear face masks

The Clay County Commissioners have announced that face masks will be required by the public to enter the Courthouse and all other county offices and departments until further notice. This decision is based on the Governor’s appeal to the public to wear face masks to help reduce the spread of the virus.

The Commissioners said unfortunately the virus is still with us. It is the responsibility of each individual to follow safety measures to not only safeguard themselves but other individuals as well.

Face masks are being required to not only protect the general public but the county employees as well. The Commissioners are suggesting and recommending that people wear a face mask when leaving home to attend a meeting, to go shopping, and for any other event. Wash your hands often, use hand sanitizer whenever available, and maintain social distancing. Stay safe and stay healthy.
