Clay County has a local Nutrition Education Program

Monday, July 6, 2020

The Purdue Extension Nutrition Education Program (NEP) improves nutrition and health in communities statewide. We work with limited-resource audiences in five areas:

•Diet quality
•Physical activity
•Food resource management
•Food security
•Food safety

NEP’s mission is to empower SNAP-eligible audiences to make healthy lifestyle choices through education and engagement of individuals, families and communities in support of policy, systems and environmental change.

Jamie Jo Lowder serves as a Nutrition Education Program Assistant Clay, Greene, & Owen Counties. In this role, Jamie Jo teaches nutrition education lessons to youth and adult audiences to help participants stretch their food dollars, plan fast, easy and healthy meals, handle food safely, increase physical activity, prepare healthy snacks and much more!

NEP is currently offering virtual lesson options. Join a class from the comfort of your own home! To learn more about NEP, or to sign-up for a free lesson, visit the NEP website at www.eatgathergo.org/free-programs.
