Indianapolis man jailed on burglary allegations after resisting law enforcement Tuesday

Details are limited, but officials confirm an Indianapolis man is in custody on burglary allegations after a brief tussle with law enforcement.

According to arrest records at the Clay County Justice Center, Thomas Staten, 32, of Indianapolis, was booked shortly after 4 p.m. Staten's preliminary charges include felony burglary and resisting law enforcement.

A RING doorbell video allegedly showing a person looking like Staten was circulating social media Tuesday afternoon, alerting people in the area near Colony Acres that he was attempting to get inside homes.

An unknown number of reports were made to Clay County 911 involving a strange person in that area, which led to members of Clay County Sheriff's Department and Brazil City Police investigating.

While officers were looking for the subject, Staten was located hiding in a nearby wooded area and allegedly tussled with officers. Staten was tased during the incident but was caught after a brief foot pursuit.
