COVID-19 UPDATE: Local data shows possible spike on horizon

This increase in the positive COVID-19 case numbers (129 new cases reported in Clay County since the beginning of October) recently caused the Clay Community School Corporation to upgrade the status to the "orange" category - moderate to a high spread of COVID-19 in the community - on the Clay Community Schools Road Map. The Indiana State Health Department confirms 74 new COVID-19 tests were completed since Monday, with eight new positive cases, bringing the overall total in Clay County to 446 since the beginning of the pandemic in March.

A total of 5,296 unique individuals out of an estimated 26,501 Clay County residents have been tested, with 7,914 tests overall completed.

The Positivity Rate for Unique Individuals tested during the past seven days is at 19.6 percent. The Overall Positivity Rate for the past seven days is at 14.4 percent.
