EDITOR'S NOTE: The following information is correct for this week. The column that appeared in Friday's print edition was inadvertently run instead of the following text.

Friday October 23, is the date for this month’s Staunton Community Center Dinner, presented by the Lady Volunteers. The dinner will take place from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and the menu includes Chicken and Noodles, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, creamy coleslaw, homemade rolls, dessert, and coffee, tea, or lemonade.

Dining space inside the Center will still be reduced due to social distancing, and everyone is asked to wear a mask while entering, ordering, and leaving. In addition, some parking spaces will be reserved for Curbside Delivery. All you need to do is pull into one of the designated spaces and place your order by calling 812-243-3513 or 812-249-5916. The meals will be brought to your car. The Curbside Delivery location is on the south side of the building near the pop machines.

We ask that you pay in cash with correct change or by check. Adult meals are $10 and child’s meals are $5.

On Saturday October 24, the annual Staunton Four-Corners Event will take place from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be plenty of free food and games for everyone to enjoy, including ham and beans, chili, hot dogs, grilled hamburgers, caramel apple slices, and more! Thanks to the Staunton Town Board, Community Center Lady Volunteers, Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department, Staunton First Christian Church, and Staunton United Methodist Church for making this day of food and fun possible.

The Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department, with the assistance of the Community Center Lady Volunteers, is sponsoring a benefit Spaghetti Dinner, with a silent auction. This benefit will take place on Friday October 30 at the Staunton Community Center from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The goal is to use the money raised to help with medical expenses for Jackie Miller.

Jackie is the widow of Errett Miller, a Posey Township Firefighter who lost his life on a fire department mission several years ago. Dine-in, curbside pick-up, or home delivery in Posey Township are methods available to take part in this worthy cause. Here are the curbside/home delivery phone numbers: 812-243-3513 and 812-249-5916.

For a donation, you can enjoy a great meal and provide much-needed help for Jackie.

Please keep praying for an end to this terrible, deadly pandemic. Please say special prayers for all the brave men and women who risk their lives each day providing Health Care and Emergency Services, along with our military and their families. Also remember to pray for all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals, and those who have lost loved ones. Go out of your way to be kind to someone, and pray for everyone.
