LOCAL BRIEFS: Final 2020 property taxes due Nov. 10

The second installment of property tax is due on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020.

The Clay County Treasurer’s Office is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

The office will also be open Saturday, Nov. 7, 8 a.m.-noon.

The Treasurer’s Office is closed Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Tax payments may be made by the following options:

• In the Treasurer’s Office on the first floor of the Clay County Courthouse.

• By mail - remit payment to Clay County Treasurer, 609 East National Ave., Room 101, Brazil, IN, 47834.

• Drop box - A payment box is located at the Clay County Courthouse ramp entrance door on the Alabama Street entrance.

• Local banks - First Farmers Bank, First Financial Bank, Terre Haute Savings Bank, Riddell National Bank will accept payments with your tax coupon.

County offices to close

The Clay County Commissioners have announced that all County Offices and Departments will be closed next Tuesday, November 3rd for the Election.

Those offices and departments closed will be the Courthouse, Highway Department, Health Department, Soil and Water Conservation Office, Extension Office, Community Corrections, and WIC.

All offices and departments will reopen at their regular times on Wednesday, November 4th.

Knightsville Council to meet

The Knightsville Town Council will meet for a Special Meeting on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. to act on Community Crossing matters.

Fundraiser set

The FBC Christina Youth Camp will have a Drive Through Chicken and Noodle Dinner on Nov. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The camp is located at 525 N CR 1200 N. All orders are in to-go boxes. There is no cost, free will offering. This is a fundraiser to offset the loss of camping season. Chicken noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans. Stop by after church for a good meal.
