Salvation Army seeks bell ringers, adds electronic donating

Saturday, November 21, 2020

The Salvation Army of Clay County is looking for individuals, families, and church groups to serve as bell ringers during the upcoming kettle season at our local Wal-Mart.

They will be two-hour shifts and shifts are only allowed to have one or two people per shift this year.

If you are interested in helping, please call Valerie at (812) 443-2231 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8:30 a.m.–noon on Fridays.

The collection will be starting Nov. 27 and ending on Christmas Eve from Monday through Saturday only.

Volunteers must wear a mask and one will be provided if you do not have one. Donations can be made by dropping off a check or cash to the main branch of the Riddell National Bank (1 East National Ave, Brazil).

Make checks payable to “The Salvation Army of Clay County.”

This year, scanner cards will be available to allow you to give your donation electronically using Google Pay or Apple Pay if you choose.

Clay County organizers will have this option available at our local Wal-Mart with the bell ringers and will set the rest of these out at different businesses throughout Clay County.

Donors take a picture of whatever one you want to use and then it will take you to the app to put in your donation.

Money raised in Clay County stays in Clay County. Your community thanks you and the Salvation Army thanks you.
