Christmas in the Park wounded by COVID-19, but not fatally

Wednesday, November 25, 2020

While many traditional parts of Brazil's Christmas in the Park celebration were canceled when Clay County was labeled as "red" for a high number of COVID-19 cases, some parts of the festivities will continue.

On Friday, Santa will be in Santa's house in Forest Park (pending approval of the county health department) from 6-8 p.m.

Fireworks, donated by Mark Adamson, will begin at 8 p.m. The lighting of decorations at shelters and trees throughout Forest Park will take place at 8:20 p.m.

Santa will also be in his house from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday is the rain date for the fireworks.

Approximately 10 trees have been placed near the Cow Palace, and Brazil citizens are encouraged to decorate them (with electricity provide) to help make Forest Park as festive as possible. The Brazil Times staff will be decorating one of the trees.
