A crowd was gathering at the intersection at Church and Depot streets in Brazil to watch workers scale the communications tower at the Duke Energy substation Thursday morning. Construction crews have been working at the substation since earlier this year renovating and updating the site. According to officials, the improvements to the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) will communication reliability and, in turn, improve reliability for customers.
