DECEMBER 7th: Remembrance Day

Monday, December 5, 2022

On this day in 1941, Japanese bombers launched a surprise aerial attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, precipitating the entry of the United States into World War II.

Originally known as Armed Forces Day, it started with the objective of collecting funds from the common people to support and honor the martyrs who fought with bravery to safeguard the honor of the USA.

Although it is not a public holiday, the American Flag should be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset in front of homes, businesses, the White House, and all government buildings, as directed by the United States Congress.
