Clyde Walton Halfhill, 86, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, on March 15, 2023, following a brief illness.

Clyde was born on February 25, 1937, in Bowling Green, Indiana, the son of Carl and Florence (Greenwood) Halfhill. He graduated from Bowling Green High School with the class of 1956. Clyde served his country with the Indiana State National Guard for 6 years. Clyde married Effie Louise Wilson on October 5, 1963. Clyde worked for General Motors Truck and Bus Division where he cut the framing for the trucks. Clyde retired after 32 years of service to the company.

Clyde and Effie were members of Ebenezer Church. They loved going for long drives and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching high school basketball games and NFL football games. Effie and Clyde often traveled to the Brown County Opry House on Friday and Saturday evenings to watch a variety of country singers.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Florence Halfhill, his son-in-law Ken Allen Vanatti, his siblings: Donald M. Halfhill, Wilma Lucille Morlan, Gene Halfhill, Ovid M. Halfhill, Beryl R. Morand, and Byron M. Halfhill.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 59 years Effie Louise Halfhill; his daughter Holly Vanatti; grandchildren: Leia Renee Vanatti, Dillenger Steel Wilkinson, Cody Vanatti (Ciara), and Brady Vanatti (Heather); sisters: Linda K. Schiele and Carlene M. Dickison (Eddie); a sister-in-law Florence Halfhill; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834 on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home, on Monday, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Danny Webster
