Virginia Ann Crouse, 97, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away while staying at Cloverleaf Health Care on March 31, 2023.

Virginia was born on May 27, 1925, in Clay County, Indiana the daughter of Frank and Ina (Northway) Clark. Virginia graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1943. She married Melvin Crouse on December 31, 1948. Virginia loved journaling and making greeting cards on her computer.

Virginia worked for Kidd’s Insurance Company, Chaney’s Jewelry, and Berry’s Motel when she was in her 20’s. She was also an Avon Saleslady and a babysitter for a short stint.

Virginia was a 50-year member of the Indiana Extension Homemakers Association and was a member of the Cloverland Gospel Church where she served as the Treasurer “for life”.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Ina Clark; her husband of 63 years Melvin Crouse; siblings: Delores Hugg, DeMont Clark, and Deloss Wayne Clark; a sister-in-law Sue Clark; brother-in-law Samuel Lester Hugg.

Virginia is survived by her two daughters: Cheryl McKinney (Doug) and Brenda Evans all of Brazil; 3 grandchildren: Caitlynn Bryan (Nick), Matthew McKinney (Kelly), and Charlinda Evans; great-grandaughter Emma Lynn Bryan; a sister-in-law Dodie Clark; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana, on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Services will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dick McShanog officiating. Burial will be held at Clearview Cemetery.
