Dorothy Helen Vanatti, 86, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away on April 25, 2023, following a lengthy illness.

Dorothy was born on April 5, 1937, in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of William Leo and Doris Eloise (Muncie) Kidwell. She married Merlyn Vanatti on May 21, 1955; he preceded her in death on January 20, 1999. Together they had 4 children: Terry Matthew, Kimberly Eloise, Angela Marlena, and Beverly Sue.

Dorothy enjoyed camping, playing cards, cooking, spending time with family, friends, and watching football – Go Colts!

She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Doris Kidwell; her husband Merlyn Vanatti; 3 children: Terry Vanatti, Beverly Chaney, and Kimberly Reel; a sister Jackie Sue McDonald; a brother Robert “Bob” Kidwell.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Angela Norris; grandchildren: Shayne Vanatti (Shanna), Boe Vanatti (Melissa), Michelle Robbins, Eric Vanatti (Brett Stoughton), Neil Vanatti (Alexandria), Brock Vanatti (Laura), and Krista Vanatti; great-grandchildren: Amy Lazono, Devin Vanatti, Dalton Vanatti, Jaxon Vanatti, Jameson Vanatti, Landon Vanatti, Madison Vanatti, and Roscoe Vanatti; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Bee Ridge Cemetery on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Seth Amos officiating.
