Age 79, passed peacefully in her home from natural causes on April 26, 2023 surrounded by family and friends. Judy was born June 15, 1943 in Brazil, Indiana to Mary Kathryn and James Lalen.

She was a loved wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved her job as a school bus monitor and driver for many years in Huber Heights, Ohio. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time in the sun by the pool, gardening, and playing Farkel with life-long friends. Her favorite flowers are carnations.

She is survived by her children, Sondra Hayes-Thompson, John Hayes, Mary Trevino, and Telina Werk; sister, Debra Jones; and brothers, Randy, Tony, and Cliff “Chubby” Lalen. She had many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Rhonda Hayes; two sisters, Norma Sue and Charlene Freeman; and three brothers, Charles, Lalen, Jimmy Lalen, and Lester Lalen. The family would like to give a special thank you to daughters Mary Trevino (caretaker) and Donna Sweeney (medical advisor) for your love and care.

Services will be held at Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 2681 State Route 340, Brazil, Indiana 47834 on Saturday, May 6, 2023, with viewing from 1-3PM and the funeral at 3PM.

There will also be services Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center, 3377 US Route 35 East, West Alexandria, Ohio 45381, with a viewing from 1-3PM and the funeral at 3PM.
