Brazil Concert Band presents Patriotic Program #2

The Brazil Concert Band, directed by Matthew S. Huber will present Patriotic Program #2 Sunday July 7th at 8 pm in Forest Park rain or shine.

This week's show will continue with patriotic music since the 4th of July is riding between two BCB performances.

The classic "Columbia Grand Patriotic Potpourri" compiled and arranged by George D. Barnard has been around nearly 100 years.

From 1959 comes "George M. Cohan Patriotic Fantasy" arranged by Walter Ehret and Paul Yoder to include "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and "You're a Grand Old Flag".

Baseball fans will enjoy "Selections From Damn Yankees" by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross in an arrangement by Paul Yoder with "Near To You", "Heart", "Whatever Lola Wants" and "Shoeless Joe".

"America, the Beautiful" arranged by Carmen Dragon and "America" arranged by John Cacavas will be presented.

Patriotic marches are "National Emblem" by E.E. Bagley, "E Pluribus Unum" by Fred Jewell, "Americans, We" by Henry Fillmore, "American Patrol" by F.W. Meacham, "The U.S. Field Artillery March" and "The Stars and Stripes Forever" both by John Philip Sousa.

The Park Stand will be hosted by Tri Kappa serving sloppy joes, Coney dogs, cheese and meat nachos.
