LUCY IRENE STRAUCH, Bowling Green, IN

Lucy Irene Strauch, 88, of Bowling Green, Indiana, passed away on August 31, 2024 while staying at Cloverleaf Health Care.

Lucy was born on June 23, 1936, in Rensselaer, Indiana, the daughter of Harry and Mabel (Musgrave) Evans. She graduated from VanBuren High School with the class of 1954 and attended college at ISU. She married Herman Strauch on February 5, 1956. Lucy worked at Macanell Nursing Home and Rose Hulman in housekeeping. For more than 30 years Lucy catered weddings and events throughout the community.

She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ. She also was a devoted volunteer and past board member of the Wabash Valley Community Foundation and the Clay County 4-H. In her younger years Lucy was a member of the Pioneer Home-Ec Club and the Tri-County Homemakers Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Herman Strauch.

Survivors include her 3 children: Fran Thompson (Bob Greek), Duane Strauch, Marvin Strauch and wife Jill; grandchildren: Travis Strauch (Khara Totten) and Tanner Strauch (Tori Schopmeyer); a sister Jane Parsons; nephews: William Parsons and wife Audrey and Sam Parsons; great-nephews: Ira Parsons and Jordan Parsons; as well as other extended family members and friends.

At Lucy’s request, private burial will be held at Poland Zion Cemetery at a later date.
