If you have never had the opportunity to attend a Power of the Community fundraiser, then this is your year. The event takes place on September 19 at the North Clay Middle School. There are more opportunities than ever before to purchase great items and taste scrumptious food from the Wabash Valley, while helping a great cause.

The online silent auction is available to everyone starting Friday, September 13. Simply go to uwwv.org/poc and look at the items available to bid on. The auction will end on September 19 at 7:15 p.m. In addition to the online silent auction, there is a live auction, raffles, and numerous items offered at the in-person silent auction that only those attending will be able to bid on.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from any committee member, or at Riddell National Bank’s main branch or The Hometown Saving Bank in Brazil. If you live in Clay City, First Farmer’s Bank & Trust has tickets for sell, and they will also be available at the door the night of the event. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the food will be available at 6:00.

One hundred percent of the proceeds comes back to Clay County to fund early literacy programs such as Real Men Read, Book Box mini-lending library, and the Laundry Cares family reading nook, along with numerous other Success By 6 programs, that encourage reading and educational programs.

Help support the children in our community, while having a great night of food and fun.
