WILLIAM "BILL" WAYNE WEBSTER, Brazil, IN
William “Bill” Wayne Webster, 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 6 ,2024 at his home in Brazil. He was born on February 10,1935 in Paoli, Indiana to the late John and Louella (Longest) Webster. Bill attended Brazil High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He married Reva Ann Cole on April 9, 1955. Bill began working for the Moore family at Moore Funeral Home at the age of 13 and went on to graduate from Indiana Mortuary College in 1962; in total he served his community for 74 years through Moore Funeral Home before officially retiring in 2022.
Bill and Reva were long time members of the First Christian Church in Brazil where throughout the years he served as a deacon, elder, and trustee, as well as being involved in the youth groups. He and Reva volunteered as custodians of the church for many years, caring for numerous people with home care and maintenance, grocery shopping, and transportation throughout their lives.
Bill's job at the funeral home was not a career but a calling. His compassion and dedication to others extended far beyond his work at the funeral home, his church, and his family.
Besides serving, Bill’s family was his life. He loved spending time with them, attending any of the grandkid’s extracurricular events, and family reunions. He always loved having a project, always was looking to lend a hand, or help a friend. When he did take a break, he enjoyed watching westerns, fishing, home improvement painting, and vintage cars.
He was preceded in death by infant children, Cheryl Lynn, John Raymond, and Sheri Ann; his brothers, Thomas Edward (Mildred) Webster, Robert Lee Webster (Bub Higginbotham close family friend), Jackie Dale (Jonel) Webster, and his sisters, Mary Ann (Cecil) Isom, Dorothy Jean (George O’Neal) Guyer, Ruth Evelyn (Dean) Cherry, Lena Kathryn (Harold) Evans and Betty Rose (John) Riddell.
Survivors include his wife, Reva Ann Webster; sons, Bradley Wayne (Lisa) Webster, and Thomas Edward (Lori) Webster; daughter Kathryn Renae (Matt) Boor; grandchildren, William Jacob Webster, Thomas Tyler (Haley) Webster, Lauren Elizabeth Webster, Shane Matthew Boor, and Logan Matthew Boor; great-grandchildren, Bowen Wayne and Brynlee Sue Webster; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many extended family members.
