Northview sets multiple personal bests at Brownsburg Invitational
It’s not often that every runner on a high school cross country team puts together their best times on the same day, yet that’s exactly what happened for Northview’s boys and girls squads on Saturday at the Brownsburg Invitational.
With temperatures in the mid-50s and some top competition, such as Carmel, Avon, North Central, Ben Davis, Cathedral, Plainfield and the host Bulldogs, to push them, the Knights fared quite well, finishing 11th in the boys meet and 12th in the girls meet.
Junior Camden Johnson paced the boys with a 25th place finish with a time of 16:11. He was joined in the top 100 by Connor Propst (64th with a time of 16:50) and Daniel Russell (77th with a time of 17:03) while Will Harms, Seth Hendricks, Devin Jones and Hadley McPike rounded out the scoring for the Knights.
In the girls race, it was fellow junior Hannah Harrison that led the way. Harrison finished 24th overall with a time of 19:36. She was joined in the top 100 by senior Josie Lynch who finished 62nd with a time of 20:47. Leah Nevill, Cora Frederick, Silas Graf, Kaleigh Alexander and Adelaide Nolte rounded out the scoring for the Lady Knights.
Northview will return to a familiar place next weekend when it takes part in the Eagle Classic at Eagle Park, the former semi-state site, before competing in four meets in a 14-day span to wrap up the regular season.
