Police Presence at Post Office

The Brazil Post office is blocked off and surrounded by police cars on Tuesday morning.

According to officials at the scene, a mysterious package was discovered near the lobby of the building at 227 West National Avenue.

When notified, Brazil Police officers blocked off the post office parking lot, evacuated the post office staff and the closest business- to ensure public safety, and contacted the Indiana State Police for bomb squad personnel.

The officers wait for the bomb squad personnel to arrive and check the package.

Residents are urged to avoid the area if possible during their travels and not to try to visit the post office it at this time.
