Motorcycle failure to stop leads to pursuit, warrant arrest
According to a press release by the Clay County Sheriff’s Department, on Wednesday, September 11th, a deputy believed they observed a motorcycle operator just south of Brazil wanted for an outstanding warrant.
When the deputy caught up with the motorcyclist, they observed a traffic violation for failure to stop at a stop sign. While attempting to implement a traffic stop, the driver refused to stop.
At one point during the pursuit, the driver drove through the yard of a house on the north side of Brazil.
Once the motorcycle was stopped, the driver fled with deputies in a foot pursuit.
After a brief foot chase, the deputies successfully apprehended Dallas Wayne Richardson, 34, from Brazil, without any further incident.
Deputies learned that Richardson had two active arrest warrants, one from Vigo and another from Monroe County.
As a result of the incident, Richardson received multiple citations and the following additional formal charges including:
Resisting Law Enforcement - Level 6 Felony;
Driving While Suspended - A Misdemeanor; and
Criminal Mischief - B Misdemeanor
