Traffic pattern shift to impact U.S. 231 just north of Cloverdale

CLOVERDALE, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a traffic pattern shift on U.S. 231, where crews have been working on an added turn lane project since March.

Beginning on or after Thursday, Sept. 12, crews will switch the current traffic pattern to a new one, allowing for southbound traffic on U.S. 231 to utilize the northbound lanes as a two-lane highway. Two-lane northbound traffic will have a left lane closure as they enter the construction area. Southbound traffic will use the crossover to return to normal traffic pattern at the south end of the site. There will also be a barrier wall in place to help guide traffic.

Work on this phase of the project is expected to last until sometime in May of next year but is weather permitting and subject to change. INDOT encourages all drivers to use caution through this and all work zones and to drive distraction-free.
