BREAKING: BPD releases Limited Details about overnight Stabbing

The Brazil Police Department has released limited details about an overnight stabbing that happened at about 9:30 p.m.Wednesday.

According to a press release, the Clay County 911 Dispatch received a call about a stabbing, and Brazil Police were dispatched to the 200 block of East Kruzan Street.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers were told a female stabbed a male and then ran away.

Brazil officers found a 41-year-old Brazil male had been stabbed several times.

Medics with STAR ambulance arrived and began treating the male.

The male was transported from the scene to St. Vincent/Clay Hospital helipad, then flown by Lifeline helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, for further treatment.

Meanwhile, at approximately 9:35 p.m., BPD officers located the 39-year-old Brazil female suspect in the 400 block of North Lambert Street. 

The female had injuries, was treated by STAR Medics, and was transported to Terre Haute Union Hospital for further treatment.

The Brazil Police Department was assisted by STAR ambulance and Clay County Sheriff’s Office officers.

Due to the ongoing investigation, no further information is available.
