The Brazil City Fire Department began checking and flushing fire hydrants in the northeast end of Brazil on Wednesday and will continue through the end of September.

Residents might notice slight water discoloration and a potential pressure drop, but the water is still safe to drink and use for everyday purposes.

Assistant Chief Raymond Staub said the process is going well, except for stopping to put out a brushfire. Clay County is currently under a burn ban due to the dry weather.

  • Don't worry about that discoloration... It's just dirt and rust ;)
