Highlighting entrepreneurship in Clay City
Approximately fifty guests attended the final community tour of 2024 hosted by the Wabash Valley Community Foundation in Clay City on Monday evening. The program showcases a community's history, local businesses, and more.
Jared Ell, Ecosystem Navigator with the Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC), kicked off the event by highlighting the ISBDC's services and their commitment to providing resources, connections, and assistance to small businesses.
"We offer no-cost business advice, support, resources, and services to entrepreneurs across the state of Indiana," explained Ell.
The ISBDC works with small businesses with under 500 employees or under one million dollars in revenue annually, and tax funds fund its services.
Participants had the opportunity to hear from a diverse range of local small businesses, each with their unique offerings and stories. Those in attendance included Wood Schuck, High Five Collective, Heather's Magical Vacation Planner, Hummel's Market, The Party Maker and Little Baker, Kathy Bouton's She Shed, Ric's Handyman Repair, Knit Massage, and Joe's Garage.
Joe's Garage, which catered the event, has been a recent hot topic in Clay City. The owners confirmed that the beloved restaurant will reopen, initially offering carry-out for the first few weeks. The official opening date will be posted on their Facebook page.
