Friday, September 20, 2024

Indiana’s largest one-day festival is happening this weekend in Brazil.

This Saturday, September 21st, from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Main Street Brazil- from State Road 59 to Depot Street - shuts down for the eighth annual Route 40 Festival.

Local motorists are urged to avoid the area as they set up, starting Friday night. Police will be in the area to reroute any traffic.

NO ATVS, ORVS, 4 WHEELERS, GOLF CARTS AT FESTIVAL

As this festival grows, the downtown event will provide visitors with live entertainment, a cruise-in, food trucks, more than 200 vendors, kids’ zone activities, and more.

With so much growth and the expected large crowd, the area is not conducive to the use of 4-wheelers, golf carts, ORVs, or ATVS.

Law enforcement will ask any vehicles unrelated to the Route 40 Festival located in the area to leave.

Some of this year’s events include;

Opening Ceremony at 11 a.m.

A Kid Zone in the area near City Hall

Live Entertainment - with four acts from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Cruize In Car Show - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

And 200-plus food trucks and vendors.

The Sons of the American Revolution will have a recruiting and information booth at the Historical Center on Saturday until 5 p.m. A display of flags and other items will be available.

There will also be a mobile ATM and a first aid area.

The Clay County Historical Society, located across from Brazil City Hall, will also open and give away books.
