JAMES ("GOOBER" OR "ARLO") MICHAEL GUTHRIE, Brazil, IN

James (“Goober” or “Arlo”) Michael Guthrie, 68, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away on September 22, 2024, following an extended illness.

Jim was born on August 23, 1956, in Clay County, Indiana, the son of Harold and Iris (Pickett) Guthrie. He worked for Ivy Hill for many years where he had served as the vice president of the local union. More recently, Jim worked for Morris Manufacturing. He retired due to health issues.

Jim enjoyed his beloved dog Emma, building computers, tinkering around the house, and listening to music, especially: Pink Floyd and Rush. He especially enjoyed watching movies including: Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Game of Thrones

Jim was preceded in death by his parents: Harold and Iris Guthrie; and a sister Linda Neier.

Survivors include his daughters: Gwynne Guthrie – Shively, Amber Guthrie, and Ashley Guthrie; grandchildren: Luella Shively, Rowan Shively, Harleigh Nicholson, Holden Nicholson, Noah Lahrman, Nicholas Lahrman, Laurynn Batchelor, and Dominique Greene.

At his request, no services have been arranged. Cremation has been entrusted to French Funeral Home.
