William H. Weber, 87 of Bowling Green died September 28, 2006, at 5:41pm due to injuries sustained following a farming accident. He was born June 24, 1919, in Clay County the son of Carl Weber and Olga Cullen Weber. He graduated from Bowling Green High School, Class of 1937. August 22, 1942, he married Freeda Buell Weber. They had been life-long sweethearts and enjoyed 63 years of marriage together, until her death April 29, 2006.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was stationed in France achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant and received four Bronze Stars for his dedicated service.

As a young man, he worked for Big Ben Coal Company and in the Clay Plant in Brazil before beginning his career with IBM. He worked for IBM in the print division for many years, retiring in 1984. His joy was found in farming and in being with family. He also enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Poland Zion United Church of Christ. He was well known for helping others in any capacity he could.

Survivors include, his three sons and daughters in law, Kent and Margie Weber, Brent and Jeannie Stephens- Weber, and Mark and Jeanne Hamm-Weber; grandchildren, Troy Weber and wife Amber, Megan Shaw and husband, Trenity, Tiffaney Hamm and husband, Andy, Tonya Austin and husband Brad, Ryan Weber, Gary Stephens and wife, Jenny, Jeremy Stephens and wife Rusty, Candy Pancake and husband Roger, Jacquie Weber, Matthew Weber and Sara Weber, 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Freeda Weber; and one brother Jim Weber.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home with Rev. Jennifer Amy Dressler officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. Post a heart of condolence at www.schoppenhorstfuneralhome.com.
