Ruby I. Barr, 69, of Brazil, passed away at 6:15 p.m., October 12, 2006, at Mill Pond Health Campus in Greencastle. She was born to William and Olah Robbins March 18, 1937, in Sullivan County, Indiana. In 1955 she graduated from Brazil High School. Mrs. Barr worked for several different companies in her early years. Most recently, however, she worked for the Brazil IGA formerly on Jackson Street and as the head cashier for the Brazil Krogers for nearly 20 years. She enjoyed playing cards and traveling, especially to Las Vegas, and gardening.

Mrs. Barr was preceded in death by her parents, and six siblings: Robert Robbins, Dave Robbins, Betty Wallace, William Robbins, "Skip" Robbins and Tom Robbins and Doris Brown as well as a close friend Clyde Gottsche.

Survivors include three sons: Tom Barr and wife Rhonda of Brazil, Brent Barr and wife Jennifer of Reelsville, and Scott Barr of Michigan; a daughter Lisa Fatch and husband Mark of Brazil; sisters: Shirley Lawrence and husband Don and Ruth Wiley of Brazil; a brother Charles Robbins and wife Pat of Brazil; grandchildren Ryne Barr, Erika Barr, Tanner Barr, Hunter Barr, Jessica Fatch, and Audrey Fatch.

Services for Mrs. Barr will be at Lawson -- Miller Chapel Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Bill Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services. At the families request donations are to be made to the American Heart Association and the American Lung Association in lieu of sending flowers.
