Wreck injures one

Deputy Doug Barr helps a tow truck employee clear the road of debris at a rear-end collision at the intersection of C.R. 700 and S.R. 59 shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday. According to officials at the scene an unidentified woman, from Oden, Ind., was unable to stop for slowed traffic and drove her Explorer straight into the back of an unidentified Florida man's Ford pickup truck, totaling the s.u.v. The pickup received only minor damage. The highway was temporarily closed so that the woman could be taken by ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital for minor injuries. The pickup driver and two passengers refused medical treatment at the scene. Members of the Indiana State Police, Posey Volunteer Fire Department and Search and Rescue assisted at the scene. Further details were unavailable as of press time.
