In his own words: Rob Gambill, candidate for sheriff

Monday, October 30, 2006

I'm Rob Gambill and I am the Democratic Candidate for Sheriff. I've spent the last 17 years learning the lessons necessary to be a good Clay County Sheriff, and I would like to be your next Sheriff. I began my career with the Clay County Sheriff's Department in September of 1989 as a Jail Officer and worked my way up from there to the position of Deputy Sheriff on January 1, 1992, in 1996 I became the Training Officer for the Sheriff's Department, in 1997 I was promoted to the rank of Patrol Sergeant, and in October of 2004 I took on my current assignment as Detective Sergeant in charge of drug investigations. My wife, Melissa, is currently the Chief 911 Dispatcher for the Sheriff's Department and has been with the department since 1990. We have spent the majority of our adult lives serving the citizens of Clay County. Melissa and I currently live in Posey Township with our children Jayme, Darci, Hunter, and Carli.
