Look at inventory tax deduction as property tax problem

To the Editor:

Property tax problems were created when the state introduced the inventory deductions.

In my opinion, if you do away with the inventory tax deduction, the problem will go away.

Raising the sales tax and all the other stuff the governor wants will be a heavy burden on the people in Indiana.

It will cost us dearly.

Doing away with the county assessors and we will appoint someone to do this job more fairly, who do you think you are kidding?

Keep our local county governments, we know who to go to when we have a problem.

We know what happened when our schools were taken out of local control, a monster was created.

When the state took over the license branches, it cost a lot more money to operate them so some were closed.

I would like to know how much money is leaving Indiana each year to foreign counties after the governor sold the toll roads for 75 years.

Don't we have someone in Indiana smart enough to manage them?

In the governor's State of the State address, I think he said Indiana was the envy of the nation. Has he heard about Great Dane's big layoff, Metal Industries closing their doors, Pfizer plant in Terre Haute doors closed, GE in Bloomington closing, and Rolls Royce in Indianapolis laying off people? I don't think we are in that great of shape.

Why is money being held back that is supposed to go to county highway departments? Is it just to make the state budget look good or what?

Once again, I say let's keep our local governments, go back to the inventory tax. I've paid it for almost 60 years on the farm, and we will be just fine.
