To the Editor:

I have lived in Brazil all my life and so has most of my family.

When I was younger, I could walk anywhere in this town and all was fine. We had good police officers and the mayor and the city officials really cared about the town and the people in it.

Today, I can't even let my grandchildren outside to play by them selves for fear that something will happen to them.

But to get to the real reason for my letter, I believe that the City of Brazil has gone to hell in a hand basket. The city officials only care about the richer people of this county. The working person had better live somewhere else.

I am a disabled widow with enough problems with health and money to worry about, then the City of Brazil wants me to make sure that nothing is in my yards. But it's OK for the City of Brazil to let the streets go and for my car to be torn up by the same streets to add more burden on me. Now, the City of Brazil wants me to sign a paper for them in case they need to put equipment on my property to clean their alley.

But once they clean the alley, it will become my responsibility to keep clean one half of the alley. I don't think so, it's city property, let the city take care of it.

Come on people, wake up. The mayor of this town needs to clean house in city government.

I still have to pay taxes on my property, sales taxes, and the high price of gasoline just like everyone else.

So why are you not fining the people in this town that own more than one rental property, or that have a good paying job? I don't live with anyone with money like some people I know. Oh, by the way, I don't do illegal drugs either.

Dixie Raab,

Brazil
