Letter to the Editor

There's plenty of good in Brazil

To the Editor:

I have a question for the people of Brazil and surrounding areas.

What defines a great business from a regular business? I understand that the answer to this question might vary in some opinions. However, I think that most people look for some of the same qualities in service from places of business. I have had both the pleasure of experiencing great customer service and bad customer service. I write this letter today to talk about a few of the great businesses in Brazil.

I have the extreme pleasure of being good friends with two Christian women in this town who have a simple café, yet when you go there, you receive big service. No matter if they know you personally or you're brand new to the café, they will treat you as one of the family from the time you walk in to the time you leave. They have gained my loyalty and even though I will eat in other places, I will always be comparing the service that I'm getting to the service I get there. The café Simply Decadent is an example for service that others should follow.

Last April my wife and I went looking for a used vehicle to purchase for our family. We were not big spenders and were looking for the best deal that we could get like most people. We found what we were looking for and more at Bob Bowen Ford. I had never met Bob before this. However, from the time my wife and I walked in to this very day we have been given great customer service.

Here is the catch for me: I got a good vehicle at a fair price and was treated like one of the family. Now, I know some people are thinking that they just do that to get the sale, but they would be wrong. What sets Bob Bowen Ford apart from the others is they do not forget who you are after a sale is made and they do not care if you are spending $1,500 or $40,000. I returned recently and purchased an older truck and was treated like I was buying a brand new one. Great service goes a long way and Bob Bowen has taken the time to instill that in his employees and it has paid off. Bob Bowen could hire a manager, like so many of these other places, and not be there all the time. Yet he cares about making sure that his customers are getting the very best they deserve and I believe that is why he is there everyday doing what he does. I want to encourage any one who is thinking about buying to at least check them out. You will not be sorry that you did.

There are other businesses in the Brazil area that treat you like they want you there. They enjoy their job. They enjoy getting to know you and they know the secret to success is great service. Places like Pizza Hut on Tuesday nights, Lorenze Service and Bedwell Tires to name a few.

I hope that this letter might instill in others the desire to write about other businesses in the area that give this type of service. I have been to other cafes and I have purchased vehicles elsewhere. But I have never had the service that I have received from these two places.

This is my way of saying thank you to the businesses out there that care more about the person than they do the almighty dollar.

We all have to make a living. I guess the question is how we make it.

Brazil
