Legion riders issue thanks for benefit

Sunday, October 26, 2008

To the Editor:

On Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, the American Legion Riders of Post 2 (Brazil) sponsored a benefit ride to assist the families and soldiers of the 138th Quartermaster Co. of the Indiana National Guard, who will soon be deployed. The weather was beautiful, which made for an enjoyable ride.

Due to the generous donations of those sponsors listed below, the benefit ride was a success for all. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the ride and those businesses who supported our effort.

We encouraged you to stop in, make a purchase or just say thanks for supporting the troops that defend our freedoms.

If you did not get the opportunity to show your support and would like to purchase a benefit ride T-shirt, please call the Armory and leave a message for Laura.

Thank you to Diane House and Hi-99 Radio, American Legion Post 2, The Brazil Times, Glidden Furniture, Gosport Manufacturing, Skid Row Bar and Grill, Sally's Place, John and John Associates, Terre Haute Savings Bank, C-6 Bar, Clover Signs, Blue Moon Gifts, Eagles Lodge No. 274, Caribbean Works, Auto Zone, Hann's Small Engine, Yesterday Family Dininng, Gander Mountain, French's Funeral Home, Fiesta Hair Salon, Mike's Car Wash, Buffalo Wild Wings, Gosport Tavern, KFC-Brazil, Gasway Insurance, Grey's Carquest, Advanced Auto-Brazil, Wal-Mart-Brazil, Menard's, Pizza Hut and Brazil 70 Travel.

Most of all, we would like to thank our troops and their families for the sacrifice and commitment they make daily. We know that without the brave men and women who have served, are serving and will serve, we would not know the peace and freedom that we enjoy.

Again, our thanks to all who made this ride a success.

American Legion Riders Post 2,

Randy Kaelber, Director
