To the Editor:

We would like to thank all the wonderful volunteer bell ringers and gracious donors who contributed to the 2008 Salvation Army of Clay County Kettle Drive.

Due to the generosity of several hundred Clay Countians, we were able to raise $10,662.36 for our community.

The money will be used to help hundreds of Clay County residents with food and other emergency needs throughout the coming year.

Special thanks goes to the following groups and families who rang the bell or gave a special donation: Carbon Baptist Youth Group, Tresner Home Group, Remax, First Financial, Van Buren Student Council, East Side Student Council, St. Vincent Clay Hospital, Dick McShannon, Lohrman Family, Staunton Student Council, House of Hope, McKinley Hill Church of Christ, Henry Family, Riddell National Bank, Bowling Green UMC, Farm Bureau Insurance, TOPS 280, Clay County Extension Homemakers, Center Point UMC Youth Group, Forest Park Student Council, Lawson Family, Higgins Family, Silver Sneakers, Carol Edington, Terre Haute Savings Bank, Mike Cassidy, Harmony Good Samaritans, Becky Johnson and Rose Harden, Jensen Family, North Clay Student Council, Clay County Junior Leaders, John and Peggy Davis, FCC Bible Bowl, Chamberlain Home Group, Herb Family, English Family, North Clay Builder's Club, Leanne Hamblin, Breitweiser Family, YMCA, Latham Family, Northview Art Club, Northview Band, Dragon Home Group, Nazarene Caravan and Emmert Realty.

A special congratulations goes to first-time bell ringers -- Carbon Baptist Youth Group, who raised the most money during the kettle drive. They will be receiving a pizza party for their achievement.

The yearly kettle drive during the Christmas season is the biggest fundraiser for The Salvation Army of Clay County. However, donations are accepted throughout the year. If you would like to donate, please make checks out to the Salvation Army of Clay County and send to 100 N. Forest Ave., Brazil, Ind., 47834.

Thank you again,

Jenni Chamberlain, Salvation Army of Clay County Chairman,

Jodi Lohrman, 2008 Kettle Drive Coordinator
