Reader responds to cat inquiry

To the Editor:

I am writing in response to the "Disappearing Cats Become a Problem" letter in last week's Brazil Times.

First, I think that this writer has a bigger problem than disappearing cats. She needs to contact the police department to report a home burglary.

Obviously, the cats were inside where they needed to be and someone came into the house and stole her cat. Shame on the burglars.

If the cat was outside to roam free, get into trash, make messes in yards, kill birds, make messes on other people's cars, and possibly breeding more unwanted animals, then shame on her for leaving the cat outside in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, I am an animal lover and have three dogs myself. My dogs are allowed outside in the confines of the fenced yard, and when I am present, in the front yard. When I walk them, they are always on a leash.

That is the law. I am sorry these people have lost their pets, but they needed to be in the house, not running the neighborhood.

Thank you,

Tina Gaddis,

Brazil
