Letter to the Editor

Responding to 'unfair' attacks

Sunday, February 7, 2010

To the Editor:

Recently, I talked to Times' Editor Jason Moon on the phone and he told me that they may be interested in some more letters about past events. Thanks, Jason. I appreciate that.

It's good to know that there are other people out there that like reading that type of thing.

However, I would like to respond to a letter I read in another paper dated Juan. 16, by a woman from Brazil about Dr. Stephens.

I find her character attacks and false assumptions on Dr. Stephens about health care and other character attacks downright downgrading.

Dr. Stephens is a well-known and respected doctor who has served this community for years and I know Dr. Stephens personally.

I'm not going to get into everything the woman said. You could probably find it. It was a long vicious letter.

I hope Dr. Stephens continues to serve this community.

Well, anyways thanks to Jason Moon for the information referring to United States 40. I appreciate it.

Out of respect for the woman, I'm not going to reveal her name, which is more than the respect she gave to Dr. Stephens.

Besides that, anybody who has read (this letter and others) or has access to (the Internet) in the last month or two would know her name.

I know everyone has a right to their opinion, including her, but her remarks were somewhat out of line.

Next time, I will write about past events and sometimes, about what's happening now.

Until next time, take care and be fair.

John Weddle,

Brazil
