To the Editor:

We want to thank all the businesses and individuals in Clay County for their generous donations of the many prizes for the recent 2010 Clay County Day in Bradenton, Fla.

Our gratitude goes to these merchants and groups countywide: Bob Burkle Chevrolet, Bob Treash (woodworking hobbiest), Brazil Concert Band, Brazil CVS Pharmacy, The Brazil Times, Brazil Sherwin-Williams, Clay City Pottery, Dave White Ford, Dr. Richard Frankville Chiropractic Center, Edward Jones Investments (Toni Carter), Emmert Real Estate, Farm Bureau Insurance, Fifth Third Bank Securities, First Financial Bank, Harris Bank, House of Spirits, Harms Hoosier Homes and Land, Lynch Garden Center, Mary Kay Cosmetics by Mary Lou Cox, Pell's Shopping Center, Riddell National Bank, Sam's Hardware, Shear Image Salon by Marcia and Rita, Terre Haute Savings Bank (Brazil branch), Clay City Beverage Place, and York Chevrolet-Pontiac-Buick.

The door prizes were enjoyed by the lucky recipients.

In addition to door prizes, Centerpiece Bingo was sponsored by Butts Enterprises who furnished everything connected with the enjoyable game, including the table décor as prizes for the winners.

This annual Clay County event is a "much-looked-forward-to" reunion of snowbirds as well as people who have "transplanted their roots" to the sunny south for their golden years.

It is a time of visitation, reflection and old-fashioned hospitality in the spirit of a county whose legacy will be long-remembered.

Clay County has always been known for its generosity and these acts of kindness were no exception.

Again, a "great big thank you" for making this annual event so special. We appreciate you all.

Mary Jo Butts,

Clay County

Day Chairman
