To the Editor:

Over the past several weeks, I have had the pleasure of working with a small group of local people putting together an article for the Indiana News 92 magazine.

This magazine, which is distributed by the Association of Indiana Counties, goes out to more than 2,800 elected officials, and others, across the state of Indiana.

It is printed on a bi-monthly basis and contains information about activities at the Indiana State House as well as various articles of information that are very beneficial to local government officials.

Each printing features a different county from somewhere in the state of Indiana, and with the help of State Representative Nancy Michael, I was able to secure Clay County as the featured county for the publication that will come out near the end of August.

I wanted to take this opportunity to let everyone know the names of the people who volunteered their time to help me with this task, so here they are: Rita Rothrock, Vice President of the Clay County Council; Mary Jo Alumbaugh, Clay County Auditor; Mike Petersen, representing the Rotary Club of Clay County; Evelyn Brown, representing the Popcorn Festival Committee; Jason Moon, representing The Brazil Times; and Scott Hill, Clay County's I.T. "genius," who keeps all the computer equipment going at the courthouse and jail.

When putting this article together, we were limited in the number of pictures and words that we could use, so we had to do the best we could to promote our county in the best way possible with the limited space we had.

We made a strong effort to make this a "county-wide" article through words and pictures.

I believe all the members of the group had a good time working on this project, and we are all very proud of the final "product."

I want to thank all the above mentioned people for their efforts in this project.

I can only imagine what it might have looked like had I done this on my own.

These wonderful people all love living in our county and take pride in there efforts to promote it to other folks when the opportunity presents itself.

When you run into one of these wonderful people, be sure to thank them for their efforts in promoting our county.

We believe Clay County is a great place to live.

Sincerely,

Mike McCullough, Clay County Council President,

Brazil
